Participant to Participant Transfer

When you first  register you will need to create an account.  When you have an account you will be able to transfer your registration to another person.  You will need to log into your account and once in you can then initiate a transfer.

There are two types of transfers:

  • Transfer as a Gift

The first type of transfer is a “Gift”, where the registrant gives their registration to another user, does not receive a refund, and the recipient is able to register for free.

  • Transfer Request

The second type of transfer is a “Transfer Request”, where the registrant offers their registration to another user, and upon that user’s paid registration, the original registrant receives a refund.

Registration transfers must be completed a week before the race (deadline Thursday November 22, 2018).  No transfers will be accepted after this date.

Inclement Weather

Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event paying special attention to the possibility of heavy snow fall, rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the Uptown Pumpkin Dash’s web site and Facebook page so that they can adequately prepare for severe weather during the race as well as possible course alterations.

On race day, the Race Director will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the course. Possible scenarios include: change of race start time on the scheduled date, modification of the race format, change of race date or cancellation of the event.

Wet, slick roadways, standing water and poor visibility due to heavy snow and/or rains may require rerouting or shortening the course.

Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15 minute increments.

If high winds are present, extra care will be taken to secure race signage, start and finish areas, mile markers, fencing, banners, timing clocks and other equipment.

Registration Fees

Registration fees are non-refundable.

Animals

For safety purposes, only service animals are allowed at our events. A service animal is a working animal, not a pet.

Ohio Administrative Code § 4112-5-06 prohibits a place of public accommodation from discriminating against a person with a disability, including denying him or her “the attendance of an animal assistant” or requiring him or her “to pay an extra charge for the attendance of the animal assistant.”

Under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the service animal’s handler must maintain control of the animal, and the animal must have a harness, leash or other tether. However, if a disability prevents the person from using a harness, leash or other tether or if a harness, leash or other tether would interfere with the service animal’s safe, effective performance of work or tasks, then the animal’s handler must maintain control of the service animal through other effective means, such as voice control or signals.

Before a person who needs a service animal can have any legal protections, he or she must have a disability, which is defined by the Disability Rights of Ohio.
